Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

To call a Doctor in an acute Emergency call 01278 722 077 during the following hours:

Monday   8.00am to 6.30pm
Tuesday   8.00am to 6.30pm
Wednesday   8.00am to 6.30pm
Thursday   8.00am to 6.30pm
Friday   8.00am to 6.30pm
Saturday   8.30am to 12.30pm*
Sunday   Closed

*We provide extended hours on Saturday morning at Polden Medical Practice. These are bookable appointments to provide services to patients who cannot come in routine hours. On occasional Saturdays the Nurse will provide chronic disease management clinics and call in patients with asthma/COPD/diabetes who work and cannot come during core hours.  Prescriptions can also be collected during these times. The telephone line is not in operation during Saturday hours. 

Out of Hours

Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

General Medical Advice

NHS 111 (Help Line) provides a national 24 hour a day, 7 days a week confidential health line, staffed by experienced nurses.   They can be contacted on 111 and their helpline is a valuable source of information and advice.  Please note this NHS 111 number can be used to phone in the case of an urgent problem when the surgery is closed.
